Sweet Spot Coffee

Sweet Spot Coffee

Munich’s Sweet Spot Coffee keeps it simple: no gimmicks, no unnecessary hype – just high-quality coffee brewed right.

With two locations, one near Marienplatz and another at Gärtnerplatz, it has become a go-to spot for those who take their coffee seriously.

Sweet Spot doesn’t roast their own beans. Instead, they bring in a carefully curated weekly rotation from top European roasters.

You’ll regularly see coffees from DAK Coffee Roasters, Tim Wendelboe, Bluebird, and other high-quality roasters on the shelves. Always something new to explore. Their house espresso is currently roasted by JB Kaffee, offering a clean and reliable profile that works well for both straight shots and milk drinks.

The baristas know their craft, but the vibe remains laid-back – no coffee snobbery here.

You can grab a perfectly dialed-in espresso, a balanced flat white, or a clean pour-over, depending on what’s on the menu that week.

What I really appreciate is that you can try any filter coffee displayed on their wall. Even the more exclusive options like certain Geishas are available by the cup.

It can get a bit pricey, but most of the time, it’s absolutely worth it. 🙂

Sweet Spot

The Marienplatz location is very small and can feel quite tight, especially during busy hours. There are only a few relaxed spots to sit.

The Gärtnerplatz café offers slightly more space, but the overall vibe is similar both are fantastic for grabbing a great coffee or making a quick stop, but they’re not ideal if you’re planning to stay for a longer session.

In summer, there’s a chance to grab one of the few outdoor seats, which makes the experience feel a bit more relaxed.

Inside, both cafés follow a very minimalist design. You’re greeted by a large wall of coffee bags from different roasters — a simple but beautiful highlight that reflects Sweet Spot’s focus on quality over decoration.

If you enjoy discovering different flavor profiles and well-crafted brews, Sweet Spot is definitely worth a visit.

It’s one of the few places in Munich where you can buy top-tier beans weekly, making it a must for home brewers looking to experiment with new origins and roasts.

However, it’s worth noting that both cafés get quite busy on weekends, making the atmosphere less ideal for a long stay.

The Gärtnerplatz location is slightly larger and also offers some outdoor seating, providing a bit more space to enjoy your coffee.
