Valencia is famous for paella, sunshine, and beach vibes – but over the last few years, it’s also become a real hidden gem for specialty coffee lovers.
I visited in 2024 and 2025 and spent quite some time exploring local cafés and roasteries across the city. The scene is smaller than in Barcelona or Madrid, but that’s exactly what makes it special: it’s more personal, laid-back, and often run by passionate baristas who truly care about coffee.
If you’re into well-balanced espressos, unique fermentation profiles, and cozy spots to hang out, here are my top picks for Specialty Coffee Valencia.
To make it easier for you to explore Valencia’s coffee scene, this guide is divided into two parts:
Specialty Coffee Roasters in Valencia
– Bluebell Coffee Roasters –
My absolute favorite Cafe in Valencia. Bluebell offers a wide selection of espresso and filter roasts – during my last visit, there were five on the menu, and I tried three of them (all excellent).
You’ll find bags to take home, perfect as a souvenir or gift. The café itself has plenty of seating, though it can get crowded on weekends. Their backyard garden filled with plants is a calm oasis in Ruzafa – and their breakfast (especially the pancakes) is hands down the best in town.
Address: Carrer de Buenos Aires, 3, 46006 València
Opening hours: Mon–Sun: 09:00–16:00

– Tallat Coffee Roasters –
A young roastery located in Cabanyal, close to the sea. I had a fermented natural espresso here that completely blew me away – clean, sweet, with notes of dark cherry and a subtle boozy touch.
The barista was incredibly kind and even brought me another espresso later to compare flavors. They offer a few pastries and cookies, but the main focus is 100% on coffee – just the way I like it.
You’ll also find a refreshing iced coffee option on the menu, perfect for sunny days by the coast. They run three grinders with different beans, so there’s something for every taste – from bright fruity profiles to rich chocolatey ones.
Outside, there are chilled seating spots where you can relax, enjoy the sea breeze, and watch the neighborhood life go by.
Address: Carrer de Martí Grajales, 21, 46011 València
Opening hours: Tue–Fri: 08:30–16:30 / Sat–Sun: 09:30–16:30 / Mon: Closed

– Foc Coffee Roasters –
A small and authentic spot that feels almost like a secret – a little hidden from the main streets, but definitely worth finding. When I visited, their roasts leaned toward chocolatey and nutty profiles, though they sometimes rotate in fruitier options.
You stand right next to the roaster while ordering your coffee to go. There’s no seating, but they offer a nice selection of freshly roasted coffee beans you can buy to take home.
The people behind the counter were the roasters themselves – super friendly and down-to-earth, even if we barely shared a language. It’s one of those places that truly captures the local coffee spirit: honest, simple, and all about the beans.
Address: Carrer de Sorní, 23, 46006 València
Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 08:00–14:00 / Sat: 09:00–14:00 / Sun: Closed

– Boscon Coffee –
A spacious café with its own roastery, Boscon Roasters offers plenty of room both inside and outside – with a huge terrace that’s perfect for sunny days. Inside, there’s lots of seating, making it a great place to stay for a while, whether you’re working, meeting friends, or just enjoying a slow coffee morning.
They serve a wide selection of espresso options and have an extended filter menu featuring different origins. You can also buy their freshly roasted beans to take home.
Boscon regularly hosts coffee workshops and tastings, which adds a nice educational touch for anyone wanting to dive deeper into specialty coffee.
Prices are a bit above average for Valencia, but the quality, service, and space make it worth it – especially if you prefer a relaxed environment with lots of room to breathe.

Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 08:30–15:45 / Sat–Sun: 09:00–14:00

– East Crema Coffee –
A stylish local chain with several locations across Valencia, known for its clean, modern design and relaxed atmosphere. When we visited, it wasn’t too busy, which made it a nice place to sit down and enjoy a calm coffee break.
They had two espresso options available at the time – both leaning toward darker roasts with rich, bold flavors rather than fruity acidity. Perfect if you prefer a stronger, more classic profile.
You can also buy their coffee bags to take home, and they offer a small range of merchandise, like mugs and tote bags, matching their minimal branding.
Overall, it’s a solid choice for anyone who appreciates good coffee in a modern, comfortable setting – without the crowds.
Address: Carrer de Sorní, 23, 46006 València
Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 08:00–20:00 / Sat–Sun: 09:00–20:00
– Ikore Coffee Roasters –
A more classic approach with darker roasts and a cozy, slightly traditional atmosphere. It’s not my personal favorite in terms of roast profile, but still worth a visit if you enjoy a stronger, Italian-style espresso.
There’s no outdoor seating, but plenty of space inside to sit and relax with your coffee. The interior feels warm and inviting, making it a comfortable spot to take a short break from walking around the city.
You can also buy their beans to take home, which is great if you prefer that fuller, more robust flavor typical of traditional espresso blends.
Address: Carrer del Pintor Salvador Abril, 30, 46005 València
Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 09:00–15:00 / Sat: 08:00–15:00 / Sun: Closed

Best Cafés in Valencia
– Kaide Coffee –
Just a few streets away from the beach and easily one of the most beautiful cafés in the city. The space is bright and minimal, with friendly baristas and a fantastic breakfast menu.
The café is run by three incredibly kind women who clearly love what they do – it’s a real pleasure to talk with them about coffee. They’re all super knowledgeable, and the conversations here feel exactly like what you’d expect from a genuinely cool specialty coffee spot.
They often feature local and guest roasters like FOC, Lola, and Nomad, keeping the offer fresh and exciting.
The café also has a beautiful Instagram account, absolutely worth following for coffee inspiration and local recommendations.
An absolute hidden gem – and if you’re heading to the beach anyway, this place is a no-brainer stop for a great start to the day.

– FAV Coffee–
With two locations in Valencia, FAV has a clean, modern, and international vibe. High ceilings, lots of plants, and large windows create a bright, welcoming space that’s perfect for working on your laptop or catching up with friends. You’ll often find people here reading, working remotely, or simply enjoying a calm coffee moment.
Their rotating coffee menu frequently features renowned guest roasters from Spain and across Europe. When we visited, they were serving beans from Hola Coffee (Madrid) and Nomad (Barcelona). You can also buy their coffee bags to take home.
Iced coffees are available too, and they serve a solid brunch menu, making it a great choice for a relaxed late morning or early afternoon visit.

– The Coffee –
The Coffee is a chain from Japan, bringing its minimalist and cozy charm to Valencia.
Right next to Mercat Central, making it the perfect stop during a city stroll. Small, charming, and with a friendly team. My espresso was solid, not the most complex, but the cozy vibe made me want to stay longer. While the shop is compact, there are a few places to sit inside where you can relax and enjoy your coffee.
Address: Carrer dels Drets, 3, 46001 València
Opening hours: Mon–Thu: 08:30–20:00 / Fri–Sat: 08:30–20:30 / Sun: 08:30–20:00
– Clem Coffee –
The Clem is more than just a coffee spot; it’s a beautifully executed minimalist space designed for a slow coffee moment. The service was warm, and the coffee was clean and balanced – perfect for a quiet break from the city buzz. Besides specialty coffee,
The Clem is a popular spot for all-day brunch and lunch, offering delicious items like homemade pastries, avocado toast, and kimchi grilled cheese. The café is laptop-friendly with spacious tables and even offers outdoor seating. Located near Calle Cuenca 40, it’s a calm retreat, but remember they are closed on Tuesdays.

– Syra Coffee –
A small takeaway-style café that’s part of a well-known Spanish chain. Syra Coffee, originally from Barcelona, has rapidly expanded, making it a prominent brand with multiple locations not just in Valencia, but all across Spain, including Madrid and Seville.
This location offers no seating, making it strictly grab-and-go, but it does feature an impressive variety of coffee bags to take home. My espresso wasn’t outstanding, but their overall concept is smart, consistent, and focused on ethical sourcing and quality beans. It’s the perfect, modern, on-the-go choice for a quick caffeine fix, and they are committed to making good specialty coffee accessible to everyone.
Address: Carrer de Ciril Amorós, 35, 46004 València
Opening hours: Mon–Sun: 08:00–20:00

Conclusion
Valencia might be smaller than Barcelona, but its specialty coffee scene is growing fast – and it’s full of character. What I love most is the human touch: cafés where you instantly start chatting with the barista, roasters experimenting with new processes, and sunny terraces that make every cup taste better.
If you’re visiting Valencia, plan a mini coffee tour alongside your beach and paella plans – trust me, it’s worth it.
